BNP Paribas Fortis secures Easy Banking Business with extensive security measures. However, computer hackers usually target the end users, so we ask you to contribute to the secure use of Easy Banking Business. We therefore ask you to follow these basic rules:
Use a recent and updated software: always use the latest software on your computer. This is particularly important for your operating system (e.g. Windows 7, 8 or 10 or Mac OS 10.11 or later version) and your browser (recent version of Internet Explorer, Edge Chromium, Safari, Chrome or Firefox).
Secure your computer(s): use security applications, such as a firewall and antivirus, antispam and antispyware software. These often come in a single package. As with all software: keep your security applications up-to-date by installing the latest updates as soon as they are available.
Secure your network and internet connection(s): if you work with a local network, ensure maximum security for the network itself, the internet connection and all connected computers.
Always use the latest version of the Isabel security components.
Your access card is personal: your security module consists of your card reader and your access card. These are used to secure your access to and transactions in Easy Banking Business. Do not allow anyone else to use your access card.
If your card is lost or stolen, block your access card by calling Card Stop on +32 (0)70 344 344, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Verify the website: fraudsters sometimes use fake websites that resemble our own. Fortunately, you can quickly check the authenticity of our websites: double-click on the padlock in the bottom-right or top-left corner of your browser screen. This allows you to check the data of the security certificate and website owner. If you do not want to perform this check every time, you can add our site to your browser favorites.
Know what you sign: Easy Banking Business only requires a digital signature when you log in or make a transaction. Check the amount and the beneficiary's account number for all payments before signing. Never sign a transaction that was not initiated by you or a colleague.
Be alert to unexpected screens: pay attention to any unusual events during your Easy Banking Business session, such as an unexpected waiting screen or the request to log in a second time. Never respond to a request to provide your password if it comes as a surprise, either in unexpected screens in Easy Banking Business or requested by e-mail or telephone.
